This is a lovely petit point tapestry evening bag/purse dating back to the 1950's. Both sides of the bag have a floral petit point design in shades of pink, blue, lilac, green and brown on a beige background. The tapestry is set into a gold tone and white enamel floral design frame with kiss lock fastener and short chain handle.
The purse measures approximately 7" x 5.25" x 1" (at widest points).
The bag is fully lined in gold silk satin with a mirror pocket. The liner is in good condition and only has one place that seems to be coming loose from the frame (see photos). The liner has evidence of use as in a few colored markings (also shown in photos).
It has a tag on the inside mirror pocket that reads: Handmade in Hong Kong Expressly for Ed B. Robinson. There is also another Raphaels Mobile, AL sticker on the inside liner. Raphael's Dress Shop formerly located in downtown Mobile, AL closed its doors in 1993.
